Frontline Nepal Leadership Entirely Female — Kusum Sharma Elected Chairperson

Frontline Nepal's 13th Annual General Meeting and 4th Convention concluded in Kushma with the election of a new, seven-member executive committee — and, for the first time, its leadership is entirely made up of women.

Kusum Sharma was elected Chairperson, with Manju Kumari Sharma Regmi as Vice-Chairperson, Sanju Kumari Sharma (Acharya) as Secretary, Dipika Sharma as Treasurer, and Sharada Acharya Regmi as Joint Secretary. Bipana Thapa Magar and Sangita Pariyar were elected as members.

The convention also formed three sub-committees to carry the organization's work forward: an Entrepreneurship Development Sub-Committee led by Kedarnath Acharya, a Resource Management and Mobilization Sub-Committee led by Shiv Prasad Sharma, and a Leadership and Capacity Development Sub-Committee led by Mohan Acharya.

The programme was chaired by Shiv Prasad Sharma and moderated by Kedarnath Acharya. Krishna Prasad Sharma, Secretary of the NGO Federation of Nepal's Parbat district chapter, spoke about the challenges youth outmigration and limited resources pose for the sustainability of social organizations, and the need for more creative approaches going forward.

Yograj Giri, a successful entrepreneur and former president of the Rotary Club of Parbat, spoke on the role social organizations play in promoting entrepreneurship — urging groups like Frontline Nepal to build self-reliant, entrepreneurial models rather than depending on donor agencies.

Established in 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.), Frontline Nepal has focused on skill development, income generation and entrepreneurship for youth and women, including capacity-building work through the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization announced plans to keep partnering with government bodies and other NGOs on capacity-building, empowerment and business-promotion initiatives in the years ahead.
